There are so many things we keep meaning to have in the show and this is the one where we do that. We respond to a request by a viewer to elaborate on Mike’s year of job losses, finally get back to the bike story we promised months ago and welcome some new babies into the world.

Mike & Chris have an anniversary coming up and use this show to talk about our anniversary three years ago. We climbed a mountain, looked into the crater of a volcano and had a day to reconnect without the pressures of daily life. All the rest of our usual features are included. We hope you enjoy.

CORRECTION – Mt. St. Helens is open to climbing. Go here for more information.

One rule of blogging and podcasting is to never change your feed. I learned this too late. I will need to change the KidsWifeWorkLife feed sometime in the next month or two. I don’t want any of you to miss a show so here is what you will need to do to be ready for the change. First, If you subscribe through iTunes you don’t have to do anything, although it may not hurt unsubscribe and resubscribe if you have a moment.  If you subscribe some other way you should read on. My apologies for all the geeky feed talk. The correct feed for the show is:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/kidswifeworklife

You will need to set up your podcatcher, Juice, Yahoo, Odeo or whatever you use to subscribe to the above feed. The published feed among many of these podcatchers is not the Feedburner feed as listed above. If your podcatcher shows anything other than the above listed feed you will need to change it. I don’t know the specifics of all the different software, but if you want help send me email and I will do my best to help you figure it out.

If you are using Yahoo our show has somehow appeared twice in the Yahoo directory. One is the correct feed and one is the incorrect feed. I have tried to get them to delete the incorrect feed, but have not had any luck. If you are subscribed in Yahoo look at the podcast information page. If the feed shown is not the feedburner feed then you should unsubscribe and resubscribe to the other version in Yahoo. One last issue with Yahoo is that the shows seem to be about 2-3 weeks late appearing in the directory. The service is in beta and hopefully will improve, but until then I recommend subscribing another way if you can so you always have the latest show.

Thanks to all of you for sticking with us through the change. If you think you are missing a show you can always come here to find it.

Thanks,

Mike

Two Flat Tires

Here we are with our tenth show, that has to mean something right? Chris is excited about our brush with fame and Sam seems to have the power to tell the future, or flatten our tires at will. We have a yet another great book suggestion and more talk about Disneyland and our experiences at the happiest place on earth.

The entire family is back home from vacation with a notebook full of stories and topics for the podcast. Unfortunately, we only get through one of them which focuses on customer service. The drawing for the Cars sticker book is still open so send us an email if you want your name in the hat.

Mike is back from vacation, but Chris and the kids are still out of town. This show includes our book segment, my thoughts about the road trips I took when I was a kid compared to road trips today and a story about how losing a job may have been one of the best things things that ever happened to me. The drawing for the Cars sticker book is still open so send us an email if you want your name in the hat.

Crickets to a Crowd

July 8, 2006

Chris andI have discovered that there are listeners out there. We have a book segment about a classic children’s book and share our thoughts about Mike’s brother and sister-in-law becoming first time parents. There is a discussion about parenting in front of other parents and a story from a listener. The next show might be a little late because our family will be starting our summer vacation tomorrow. However, I am sure we will be full of traveling adventures when we return. The drawing for the Cars Sticker Book is still open. Email or call if you want to be included the drawing.
